After conquering neon-lit Tokyo streets, it’s time to forge a new journey that takes us into the wilderness. Oakley® and Fragment®, the design company founded by streetwear godfather Hiroshi Fujiwara, return for a seventh collaboration between the two cultural icons, with the release of the FW23 capsule collection. This mix of eyewear and apparel blends the best-in-class performance from Oakley with Fragment’s minimal aesthetics to create a snow-inspired set that speaks for itself.
“Our continuous partnership allows us to explore new perspectives on most innovative eyewear”, said Fujiwara. Fueled by the genuine connection nurtured by the two brands over 14 years of joint adventure, this collection unleashes two pairs of Oakley Sutro shades proudly bearing the Fragment brand, and a hoodie that drags the vibrant world of streetwear out into the untamed.
Fujiwara’s minimalist ethos and Oakley’s adventurous soul drive the creation of the Fragment® X Oakley® Polished Black Sutro Vented sunglasses. Featuring a vented Prizm™ Grey shield lens that’s taking design cues from Oakley’s iconic Eyeshade combined with the lens logo placement that once was restricted to the Oakley Factory Pilots, this is not your typical sunglass. While the functional sport design provides you optimal coverage, extended field-of-view, retention and impact protection, this Sutro is meant to stay in your rotation, forever.
Embracing consistency and details, the Fragment® X Oakley® Matte Black Sutro Lite Sweep uses heritage to define the now. Ditching city life for the great outdoors, these new performance shades feature a Prizm™ Grey shield lens for an enhanced visual experience. While the functional sport design provides you optimal coverage, extended field-of-view, retention and impact protection, this Sutro Lite Sweep is just another testament to the never-go-out-of-style philosophy this collaboration is all about.
Both sunglasses are delivered in a custom box and microbag, as well as an easy to clip-on hardcase that will protect them, wherever adventure may take you.
More than just another hoodie, the Fragment® X Oakley® brushed-back black Hydrolix hoodie celebrates both brands’ journey for what they created together. Featuring an oversize “Glassroots Community” and an Oakley white print to the chest paired with FRGMT’s logo on the back, this is a celebration of what their long-lasting collaboration stands for. While the garment remains highly functional and performant, the vehicle comes off in a sleek top than can be worn in any and all situations.
Season Seven Fragment® X Oakley® limited edition will be available in Japan starting from October 26th at 9AM JPT in selected stores.
