Oakley® continues its long-standing partnership with MotoGP™ as the title sponsor of this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix, officially known as the Gran Premio d’Italia Oakley. As the official eyewear supplier of the Championship, Oakley celebrates the world’s best riders while influencing style off the track. Oakley, which first took top billing at Mugello in 2017, has continued to support this historic race track as part of its partnership.
Leading up to and throughout Mugello, the brand will highlight the return of its MotoGP Collection while releasing eyewear which celebrates key circuits in the Championship and riders from Team Oakley. These pieces help celebrate the Championship, widely recognized as the world’s most premier motorcycle racing event.
Oakley spotlights some of the top names in the sport, including eight-time Grand Prix World Champion Marc Marquez, former Moto3 World Champion Maverick Vinales, and six-time Spanish Champion Fabio Quartararo, with their own namesake signature styles. Each of these racers will compete at Mugello as part of Team Oakley, which continues its support of top athletes from around the world.
All three frames, which come with PrizmTM lenses designed to enhance color and contrast so you can see more detail, are inspired by the riders and their signature color accents. Uniquely, the eyewear features the riders’ personal logos etched into the lenses, as does the custom microbag. Oakley will also be releasing two special editions eyewear collections to celebrate the event, the MotoGP Parlay and the Mugello Circuit Sutro.
“Whether you’re a racer, a partner or a fan, it’s impossible not to be romanced by the history of the track and be electrified by the high stakes on race day at Mugello. That energy and enthusiasm is what we feed off of and hope to add to as the title sponsor of this event and throughout our time supporting MotoGP,” said Caio Amato, Oakley Global Marketing Director. “Watching the world’s best racers push themselves to the limit for the chance at glory during each and every Grand Prix is why we do what we do.”
Other Team Oakley’s athletes competing at the event include Niccolò Antonelli, Celestino Vietti, Luca Marini and Marco Bezzecchi. The brand is also the official eyewear partner of the Yamaha Racing Factory Team, Honda Racing Factory Team, Aprilia Racing Factory Team and VR46 MotoGP team.
