Oakley Ellipse arrives in exclusive limited-edition colorways
For the first time since its debut on the Paris Fashion Week runway, the Oakley® and Kiko Kostadinov eyewear collaboration is being made available for a limited release. The Oakley Ellipse model arrives in two custom colorways built around feather and wood grain motifs.
The creative process was led by Kiko Kostadinov Women's creative leads, twin sisters and designers Laura and Deanna Fanning, who worked directly with the Oakley team to develop the custom color treatments for the frame, which debuted on the Paris Fashion Week runway in March. Inspired by Cindy Sherman's 1992 Fitcher's Bird photographic essay, the depth and richness of natural patterns and bird feathers shaped the color treatment across their AW26 collection, translating onto the Ellipse frame.
"Working with Oakley was a snapshot into their ingenuity. Rethinking the Ellipse as a part of our collection allowed us to work with the team on custom-designed treatments for their frames. Magnifying wood grains and feather patterns on the pieces reference our AW26 collection that touches on birdwatching and the outdoors whilst also honouring Oakley's distinct focus on the environment and outdoors," said Laura and Deanna Fanning, creative leads of Kiko Kostadinov Women.
In equal parts futuristic, contemporary, and retro, Oakley® Ellipse celebrates different design chapters of the brand's heritage in one frame. From its circular shape to its '90s-inspired curved details, Ellipse is an ode to the Oakley ellipse logo. The collection is available in two colorways: Amherst Fade with Prizm™ Bronze lenses and Woodgrain with Prizm™ Bronze lenses.
The limited-edition Ellipse collection will drop on October 1st at select Kiko Kostadinov retailers, on KikoKostadinov.com and Oakley.com, and at select Oakley stores and partners worldwide.
