OAKLEY® TAKES ANOTHER LAP AT MUGELLO AS OFFICIAL EYEWEAR SPONSOR OF THE MOTOGP™ CHAMPIONSHIP

The stage is set for the return of the Gran Premio d’Italia Oakley® at Mugello, one of the most highly anticipated circuits on the MotoGP™ calendar each year. Fans from all over the world flock to Tuscany and watch the world’s best battle to become part of history. Oakley returns in 2023 as the proud title sponsor of the Italian motorcycle Grand Prix and official eyewear supplier of the MotoGP World Championship.  

Oakley’s footprint can be found throughout the event, whether it be influencing style off the track or representing riders on it. The field at Mugello will feature Team Oakley athletes including Marc Marquez, Maverick Vinales, and Fabio Quartararo. To celebrate their storied careers and show support ahead of the event, Oakley has created a signature style for each of these riders. More information can be found below: 

• The Marc Marquez Signature Series Sylas celebrates the youngest rider to ever win a MotoGP championship. His Signature Series Sylas draws inspiration from the asphalt and dark smoke his opponents see while he whizzes by, while the intense red color he chose represents the burning passion and fire inside that carries him across the finish line.  

• The Maverick Viñales Signature Series Leffingwell was designed in collaboration with its namesake, the Spanish Grand Prix racer who made his MotoGP debut in 2015. The frame color is a sleek, gunmetal gray inspired by jet planes and the top speed Viñales aims for on his bike.  

• The Fabio Quartararo Signature Series Pitchman R takes design inspiration from its namesake athlete, a French MotoGP racer and 2021 MotoGP World Champion. As the first French World Champion in the premier class's history, Fabio was inspired by the desire to evolve and progress in his sport, looking to the image of a flame that grows as it shines bright. 

All three frames, which come with Prizm™ lenses and feature the riders’ personal logos etched into the lenses as well as their custom microbags.  

Oakley will also release the new MotoGP Sylas, celebrating the premier motorcycle racing event circuit. The frame features classic lines inspired by the checkered flag mixed with movements in the pattern characterized by the warm speed at which those races take place. The MotoGP Sylas is available in Matte Black with Prizm Black lenses, and includes a MotoGP etched logo and custom microbag to safely house and clean your eyewear.
